Hi, I’m Kate Scolatti. I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and content writer in the Portland, Oregon area.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Richmond, and then a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Auburn University. After graduating, I went on to work in community mental health centers for four years and then went into private practice.
My specialty areas are anxiety, OCD, and family therapy, and I have years of experience working with families and individuals of all ages. I sought extensive training to become a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) and to complete training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) from the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (BTTI). That’s a lot of fancy letters to say I know how to effectively treat anxiety-related disorders with the most up-to-date and evidence-based interventions.
Creating accessible and informative mental health content is a passion of mine. In a sea of misinformation and pseudoscience, I strive to cut through the fluff and get accurate, high-quality information into the hands of the people who need it most.
